I recently purchased a 43 H, it has a 6 volt system but came with a 12 volt battery. The previous owner had a switch put in the loop to the coil (hot side), there is no apparent ballast to resist the voltage down after it is running. I have ordered the service manual and the parts manual (from this site) but won’t be here for 3 weeks. I would like to get going on some improvements and get it running correctly. My questions: Is the ballast somewhere on the machine ? What damage has likely been done to the coil, points and condenser – as I can not get it running The number 1 cylinder is the most forward ? I should be able to time it with the No 1 at TDC and the points just open or is it closed ?
