706 Shifting

I`m replacing the wore out parts of my range shifter . Theres a pin that runs though the parking pawl and the rod that runs from the top to the bottom of the sterring tower . Will that pin drive out or is it somthing different , it dont want to move and I dont want to tear somthing up . The parts man said it`s not just a roll pin but to drill it out and replace it with one .
