Phil I had a problem with my c tractor after I completely rebuild it. It acted like your is acting, after many days of going by thought I tryed every thing eletrical,carb,wiring,dist,timing. Come to find out I had brought a new manifold for it and it was cast poorly it had a hole up inside it where it let the exhaust run into the intake sideof it It was made in china. I ordered a new made in usa and it solved all my problems.If you have your oringal maniford and you are still having problems I would be glad to help Just email me Thanks Ken
