First, that cast unit with an oil gauge on it is your oil filter. If you remove the hex bolt and pull the top off, you'll see the oil filter element inside. I've heard some people say that if you don't tighten the bolt down properly you can get a leak. For you, that gasket is probably shot. Since you just bought it, you should change the oil and the filter. CaseIH has these parts, and you may be able to get them at NAPA. I live in Northwest IN, and run straight 30W oil with a bit of Marvel Mystery Oil year-round. (It's difficult to remove the filter with the hood on, but can be done.) Second, initially the coolant level should be filled to the neck of the radiator. After some time, a little coolant will flow out and will drop a bit to the proper level. For my Cub, the coolant has settled to just below the top of that metal "bar." (The metal bar is a continuation of the coolant inlet--the bottom of it is open.) Hope this helps, Chris
