How heavy of grass are we talking? I run a 6-foot with a 240, which is the previous model to the 404, little smaller engine. I"ve gone all day in stuff that was about three feet tall, cleaning up some property for a neighbor. Like CNKS said, you need to figure out how many RPM"s the engine is turning with throttle wide open and the mower operating in the heavy stuff. Rated speed on a 404 is 2000 RPM"s, I belive, which will be fine all day. 80% of rated speed is overload, which is fine through a tough spot, but not all day.
