Your clutch may not be fully disengaging. I have seen them loose a portion of the lining off the clutch disc. It is captured by the flywheel so it rides along on the outside of the clutch disc and tries to drag it along. To test and see whether you have this problem, stop with the tractor in gear, then shift to neutral and leave it there for several seconds, then shift back into gear. If it grinds, the clutch is dragging. It won't hurt anything, but it is aggravating and will probably get worse.
