I have a SMTA with 12 volt alternator. I used Bob M's diagram and put a resister in the wire to the switch instead of the light. Worked fine until I put an electronic ignition on the tractor and went to 12 volt coil. Now it doesn't want to shut off, especially when throttled up a bit. I thought it was the switch so changed it but didn't help. I am thinking maybe there is some "leakage" through the resister and with the more efficient ignition it is back feeding enough that it won't shut down. going to try a new resister. Anyone run into this before?
