Allan, My ol girl doesn't have a whine at all. I would think it strange that your does. Did the guys who did the work on your open the rearend up to look inside at the time of refurb? 3 yrs ago when the clutch/TA, and lower rock shaft seals were done. Mine was opened up and inspected. It looked very nice, no chips or partial broken teeth. Soooooo...... I wonder if a bearing failed in your tractors previous life and ate some bearing pieces and the teeth are scared up thus causeing the whine? Just a thought. Hope it isn't too bad. Later, John A.
