Me and my dad have the oppertunity to lay our hands on three TD 18's that do not run. Being mainly Caterpillar fans, we don't have much knowage of the IH crawlers, other then they start on gas and switch over to diesel. Some of the questions I have would be I am wondering where the heck the serial numbers would be on these guys. I spotted a stamped serial on the engine block. would there be any other locations of the serial (I understand the older ones have a plate on the dash, and that leads to question #2) From what I understand, the TD 18 was redisigned in the 1950's (Right?) and I believe two of the bulldozers in question are of the later generation. Can the two generations swap parts? Finally, how different is the International's final drive compared to Caterpillar's of the same era? I forgot to scribble down what I thought were serial numbers (The ones on the engine blocks) So i'll post them when I look at them tomarrow. I do know two of them have the TD18M prefix, while the other is TDRM. Thanks for any replys, Chris
