If you don't need the hydraulic pump and it leaks bad you can unhook it so it does not turn and you won't need to worry about kepping it full. There is a plate between the pump and the rear end under the tradctor that bolt on with two bolts, take it off and you will see a round shaft with a collar on each end. Take the bolts or cotter pins out of the collars and slide the collars to the middle of the shaft and you can slide the shaft up and down or sideways and take it out. the pump will no longer turn.
