Kevin, If you are going to disconnect the drive coupling to your hydraulic pump you can just drain what remains in the pump through the drain plug on the bottom of the pump. It will be fine empty with the drive coupling removed and that will stop the source of leaking hydraulic fluid. Also, several folks use non-detergent 30 wt. oil in the pump which might not leak as bad as hydraulic fluid. You might want to also just change out your transmission/differential fluid if it hasn't been changed in several years. Depending on the climate where you live (and if the tractor is stored outside) it tends to collect water. You can check for the presence of water by loosing the drain plug to the point where fluid can seep out. You should be able to see if you have water present after the tractor has set overnight by what seeps out around the drain plug. If it is milky colored you have water present. Have fun on your tractor cruise.
