When my dad first bought the tractor it ran for a few weeks then it started to spit and sputter and then quit running. So he tinkered with it and found that the pump wasn"t working. So he ran it for a couple of years with a gas can ontop of the hood, with the filler neck down and the air vent ontop and a clear gas line to the carb and it ran perfect. I finally ordered a pump kit from the Fordson House in Escanaba,MI, about 3 hrs from were we live, and Skip told me that there is another pump kit that had some springs included, but he didn"t stock that kit. So we have all new gaskets and diaphram, so I will have to check the rod, or the whole pump may be no good, we have clear fuel lines on it, so we can see how the fuel level.
