The former pin was likely broken off so try punching it out. Grind or file the surface to locate the original hole. Have someone hold a large sledge hammer underneath while you use a punch from the top. If you have an acetylene torch, you could heat the end of the shaft & try punching the old pin out. If memory serves, the pin is 1/4" in diameter so you can use an old bolt to replace the broken one. Find one with a long enough center section without threads and cut it off at the correct length allowing for the crank notch. Smooth the ends so your clothing will not get torn when you brush up against it in the future. Since the bolt will be a loose fit, rough the part that will be inside the shaft with a center punch so it will stay in place when driven in place.
