My 2002 3/4 ton Duramax 4X4 regular cab 6 speed manual got 20 MPG regular driving, not towing. With a heavy load of tractors, 12 MPG. I recently traded for a 2005 3/4 ton Duramax 4X4 with extended cab long bed and Allison automatic. It got about 11 MPG hauling tractors to Lebanon. Looks like it's going to get about 16 MPG not towing. The extra weight of the extended cab and the auto transmission look to cost quite a bit in fuel mileage.
