I'll only offer limited sympathy. Those who are used to paid vacations, company paid health care and paid sick leave, etc. have learned to depend on them and miss them when they are gone. That's a shame. There are those of us who have never had a paid vacation in our life, who've never ever been paid for even an hour not worked, and have paid for fringe benefits for employees we couldn't collect for ourselves. Now that we can no longer work, we're no longer required to pay double rate for FICA most of the time, except for farm income. Whoda thunk our reduced benefits would be less than our prescription medications. In spite of all we are STILL required to pay FICA and income tax on savings we withdraw to live. Count your blessings, suck it up, and move on!
