Gas in the oil will change the viscosity and affect the oil pressure. Put a good detergent oil in, a straight 30 weight is a good selection. See what happens to the oil pressure before you start taking things apart. Are you able to adjust the RPMs at all? If you can the the govenor is working. Someone may have adjusted it for a higher RPM. A good repair manual will show you how to adjust the max RPM. You also need to figure out how the gas got into the oil. If the carb float is not shutting off the fuel or the choke is stuck closed you may be sucking fuel into the engine. I would think that it would be smoking if that was the case.
