I have a 1954 CASE VAC and the end cap for the steering box cracked out-it is similar to the big bearing retaining nut on my Farmall C and your Super C in the same spot. I built it back up with DEVCO? 2ton 2-part clear epoxy, filed and milled it to size and shape, not a lick of trouble. I have used JB weld to plug holes and seal cracked water jackets, but not shafts yet. I DEFINALTY RECOMMEND GETTING THE SHAFT AS ROUGH AS POSSIBLE SO IT STICKS!!! If you don't, it will just peel right off. Just my 2 cents
