The best way is to do a full hydraulic test to the MCV system, but that requires guages and a flow rater. Your test is about the best you can do short of that, but make sure to try it out under full load with the plow. Make sure the transmission pressure light on the dash works, if you see it come on any time other than when the clutch pedal is depressed or while shifting the TA (such as holding the steering wheel against the stop), you've got problems. Get an I&T manual and go through the entire transmission, clutch, TA, dump valve, and transmission brake adjustment procedure. The tractor will shift easier, and the TA will last longer. Make sure you never pull back the TA to slow down a heavy load, such as coming off the road with a full chopper box, that's the best way to fry the brake pack.
