A few days ago I posted a problem with my SW6. When it was brought out in the spring it would not turn over very well 1/4 rev at best. The battery was good. I put on new cables #2 guage, no help. If I would tow the tractor it would start immiediatly and run great. I went to the trouble reluctently of getting #2/0 guage cables. They did not help. This problem had began to really aggravate me. I went back to the old starter it always worked but just not good turned real slow. The starter is a three bolt type with the switch on the top. I took the switch off and was glad to see what I had hoped would be the problem the big brass contact was all black and dirty from the vicious arc-ing (sp?) that must take place under there. I put everything back together after cleaningand it started like it probable did back in 1953.just beautiful. It even starts just as good with the #2 cables I first made for it. I thought the #2/0 were a little bit of an over kill they will look neat on my pulling tractor they don't belong on this SW6. Thanks
