660 was originaly 12 volt with negitive ground.
Most had 2 12 volts to give it better cranking
power. The diesel had glow plugs and they
need all the juice you could spare.

Not sure but i think Farmall/IH did away with
postive ground with the 300's and 400's or
was it when they started using 12 volt
systems?
