300 u has finally died , I think

300 u working well other than losing tranny fluid from under steering box mount.Today after working hard with cultivator and tiller smoke came from under the battery, from the inspection plate cover,smelled like burnt clutch.starts ok with clutch engaged, but with tranny in neutral and clutch not engaged it acts like it is still in gear,and wont start.Engaging the clutch to start engine while in nuetral then releasing the clutch the engine acts as if itis under load as if still in gearbut not moving. So i am in neurtal but engine is working harder than it would wiht my tiller in hard soil. tranny is pretty much out of fluid when checked today.
