I would suspect you have had a bearing fail and seize. Consequently, it has spun in the housing or bore or on the shaft. Does the load on the engine increase with running time or load? Usually spun bearings get worse as they continue to spin and heat up. Depending on which bearing, repair may require a simple housing replacement, transmission case repair or replacement, or shaft repair or replacement to repair the damage done by the failed bearing. You will likely have to tear the transmision down to determine what has happened. Farmalldan
