GC, if it ALWAYS clicks at the solenoid when you try n start her but it takes a few tries before she cranks, AND ASSUMING THE BATTERYS GOOD??? Im thinking for now its EITHER a solenoid problem,,,,,,,,or a start switch/key problem,,,,,,,, or else bad connections like at the ground or battery cables or the starter or solenoid, but it still could be an internal starter problem like worn brushes. First thing I would do is remove then clean n wire brush n reattach each n every battery n solenoid n ground n starter cable n connection then try her. If it still persists, next thing I would do is jump a hot wire like from the solenoids big battery (NOT to starter) post over to its lil S activation terminal and see how well the solenoid performs then. When you have a key or switch in the START position all it does is send hot voltage down to the solenopids lil S activation terminal, so when you manually jump to that it can tell if the key or start switch is doing its job. If it like ALWAYS cranks when you jump to the solenoids lil activation terminal (thats says the solenoid is okay) but not when you use the key, I question the switch contacts!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY, if she still acts up despite all good connections AND A GOOD BATTERY and despite jumping the solenoids activation terminal,,,,,, its EITHER THE SOLENOID OR THE STARTER. Its possible to by pass jump around the solenoid by jumping from its battery side (or direct from battery) over direct to the stater side BUT THATS A HIGH CURRENT AND HIGH ARCING SITUATION, BEWARE OF ARCING N BURNING, HAVE PLUGS REMOVED FOR EASIER CRANKING. Then if she ALWAYS cranks well that way BUT NOT WHEN USING THE SOLENOID, I suspect the solenod is bad/burned/carboned up inside. Hydraulics - Cylinder Anatomy - by Curtis von Fange. Let’s make one more addition to our series on hydraulics. I’ve noticed a few questions in the comment section that could pertain to hydraulic cylinders so I thought we could take a short look at this real workhorse of the circuit. Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
