I just got home from the summer trip to the mountains. We stay at my aunt's house, that used to be my grandfather's, and his father's before. In the kitchen there's a thermometer from his tractor dealerships, one of the few we have left. This one is only about ten inches high. Somewhere there's one that looks like it, but 30 inches and rounded edges. I think it's mine, but I haven't seen it in a long time.
Notice the four digit phone numbers. Walterboro and St. George had only one exchange apiece - I barely remember when we started having to dial a "9" before the number.
