There are helicoil repair kits for every U.S. and metric size. A good autoparts store, or tool store will have them. The hole is drilled out to a slightly larger size, then a tap is run through the hole for the helicoil thread insert. It looks like a spring and winds into the new hole replacing the original threads with steel. It is in most cases stronger than original, and uses the original bolt (new if the old one was dammaged.
