It’s hard to tell how long it will last without seeing the rails, but generally if the shifter is built up to fit the rails the problem goes away. My thought is that if this is the only issue you have with this rear end, why go through the work of swapping it out? However, if there are other issues like noisy gears or bearings, then it isn’t hat much work to swap them out. I’d check the shifter on that one too, just to make sure you don’t have this happen on that one too.
