Stan, I havent used Farmalls in years so my recall is weak, but as best I can remember, heres my thoughts: I would have the Generator looked at and rebuilt if needed (besides just the bushing/bearings) and if you use a full fledged 3 or 4 wire Voltage Regulator (to replace a 2 wire cutout relay and light switch field controller if it had that) you get better control/regulation then using the light switch type control. HOWEVER, if originality is an issue and if it had the light switch type of field control, I would get a brand spanking new switch. If it uses the light switch type field current control (versus a VR) I would either insure the old 2 wire cutout relay is working fine or replace it also. Dont forget to Polarize the new Generator!!!!!!! Many of those Delco bearings n bushings are readily available from generator repair shops or even NAPA. Hows the ammeter look and work?? If any doubt, I would get a new one. Hows the Ignition/Kill switch??? Again, if any doubt, I would get a new one also. John T, retired electrical engineer in Indiana

There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
