Was it running ok before the paint job? Since it runs, does it run ok and just backfire some or does it have a miss? How long did it sit while waiting for paint? maybe valve sticking from sitting. Did you remove the mag for the paint job? Timing Did the cap and/or wires get painted? crossfiring Wires reinstalled in wrong order? Double and triple check dist rotation and firing order
