The wheatland or standard tractors were used by farmers who did not need mounted implements, examples are farmers on the Great Plains who grew only small grains such as wheat, thus needing only trailing implements. My father in law was that type of farmer, he bought a 656 (not a wheatland type) with no 3-point, because he had no use for mounted implements. He had previously used wheatland-type tractors.
