From the way you have described the tractor I don't think you are out of line by wanting $3,000. The sum of the remaining good parts including the tires should make it worth that much. The tractor would also be an excellent candidate for a complete engine transplant if someone was so inclined. I saw a picture once of a 706 with a 396 Chevy installed. Don't know how practical that would be for a working tractor but it would sure be fun. Don't let it go too cheap.
