Like Nebraska Cowman said, it's a rod back to the bottom of the steering post that allows you to adjust the choke from the operator's seat. On my '47 H, it goes through a bracket behind the air cleaner - facing the air cleaner from the left (clutch) side of the tractor. Personally, I'd try to find one at a boneyard and, since they commonly get additional bends from use, find an H that's got one that doesn't look too malformed and mimic that.
