Until last week I would have agree with you that there was no advantage to forward air flow, then I had to clean the rad on my 3488. Just a few minutes to remove the grill and fan and you can pressure wash the rad against the normal air flow. They even have drain holes in the air box for the water to flow away. Anyone who has even tried to clean a rad without removing it will appreciate what I am talking about.
