Farmall 100 project

Okay, I'm about to re-condition the hydrolic unit on this 100. Y'all got any tips I need to know before, during, or after I do this deed. I got all the O rings from the dealership (what a rip-off) and cleaned up and re-painted the outside of the unit (heavy little sucker). I think I got enough sense to do it on a clean place and I've read somewhere to use Vaseline on the o-rings. Do I need to flush it all out with some sort of solvent? Or, in general, what is it that I don't know that will cause me to screw this up? Thanks in advance.
