Sounds like some of that junk got through to the carb. Remove the line from the carb and remove the brass fitting, there may or may not be a screen inside the fitting. Might just have to clean the whole carb. Another possibility is the fuel shutoff solenoid. Do you hear it clicking when you turn on the key? You can also test it by removing it and replacing it with a pipe plug, if the engine now runs, you've found the problem.
