To COVER or not to COVER ??????????????????????

I've heard that you should NOT put covers over tractors for any period of time. I've also been told it would not do any harm to cover them. I am starting to think about putting my tractors up for the winter. I have one shop that is insulated with a concrete floor and one that is not insulated with rock for a floor. Don't know if that makes any difference or not. I would like to put dust covers over them. I bought several painters drop cloths to do this but like to hear both pro's and con's about doing this before I do anything. THANKS
