I agree with that concept up to a point. Todays car and truck engines are built to much tighter tolerances than a 50 year old tractor, so the 5w-30 works good in cars and trucks, but I don't think 5 weight is what I want in my tractors. Some of the newer Ford vehicles actuall use 0w-20, or something like that, when you pour it out of the bottle it looks just water. I will not put that oil in any tractor. 10w-40 would be OK, 15w-40 would also be OK.
