Even droppen the safty loc. is not a 100% deal but it does help and always shut it off every year people get crushed under a combine head . As for me i go the extra mile on getting under a head i made up safty stands that i put under something sloid incase the latch does not hold or one of the pins shear if nothing else around here there is always a bank that you can put the nose on and set the parking brake block the wheels . they never made a bushel of corn -beans - oats-wheat that is worthe the cost of someones life and if ya don't get it done today there is always tomarrow .
