Super W4 electrical problems, Lots of sparks....

I have a SW4 that I have been working on. I converted it to 12 volts neg ground. It has a new starter switch , voltage regulator , the generator converted to 12 volts, Ect... all new parts.
The problem I"m having and can"t solve is when I engage the starter all the levers ,gas line or anything metal thats touching another piece of metal sparks. The tractor once started runs fine but I also noticed its not charging either.I know somthings not right . I"ve spent hours checking all connections and wires but seem to find nothing wrong.
I sure could use some help maybe someone else has had the same problem.
