This is interesting. The Super A parts book (if you get the right edition) shows some changes at serial #310300 (in 1951), at least suggesting that block 354898R1 was used from that point on. Yours may have an early casting of that part from when it was still being evaluated. As I mentioned before, I have seen one other Super A with a "SPECIAL" block that was from very early 47/48 production.
