I've a round magnet with an eye-bolt through it in the bottom of my H's tank. I put it right next to the outlet port to the sediment bowl. Every year or so I snag the eye with a coathanger-wire hook, pull it up through the filler opening and wipe off the accumulated rust/ferric bits. That plus an in-line fuel filter (which I've never had to change - going on three years now) has kept my fuel flowing. My tank had about six or seven, silver-dollar-sized, moderate-to-heavy rust spots on the inside when I started doing this.
