Rod through the side of the block is bad news. Usually a good sign the engine lost oil pressure or coolant dumped into the oil, rod bearing then seized, and connecting rod broke. I bet there's a lot of damage to that crankshaft. Block could very well be junk, depending if that rod went through any oil gallies or coolant passages. I wouldn't even mess with that engine. Lots of good H, 300, 350 engines out there that you could pick up cheap and bolt in or rebuild.
