If you like JD, why switch? The 4020 may be a little big and heavy for 10 acres, but if it's what you have, what's wrong with it? I did research in small plots for the Kansas Ag Experiment Station for 29 years, used mostly 4020, 3020, 2020, 1530, plus an IH 444 mostly for spraying. Turned around in 20 ft alleys, often with 15 ft implements with the 3020 and 4020. Plots were usually about 80 ft x 200 ft or smaller, got along fine. 3020 is about the ideal size, although you can go smaller.
