Hi Brad, my Dad's 454 a D179 engine did this about 15 years ago after the fan belt broke and he overheated it. We kept using it for about a month after, released the rad cap so there was no pressure in the rad, would drain the oil plug every morning before using. Had IH change "O" rings, new piston rings and hone sleeves. Tractor is still running today with over 15000 hrs on the engine.

So I guess antifreeze went to the bottom of the oil pan and never really mixed with the oil.
