Harri,
If there are teeth broken on any gear, they will need to be replaced. Using it will be putting more tranny parts in trouble. The gear teeth need to be examined with a hand lense to be sure of what you are seeing. There may be a bent tooth, or a chunk of tooth at the root of two teeth causing the bind.
Look to see what the gear touches when binding, and look that over as well. I believe close observation can assist in the repair by not overlooking bad components. My opinion is to repair it now.
