Distributor Drive Housing oil

Last week I wrote about my M dying. Due to rain all week, today
I finally got to finding the problem. When I pulled out the
distibutor, I found the distributor gear pin missing. I feel lucky I
did not have to go too deep. I pulled the plate off the bottom of
the housing to find the loose pieces, i found really thick oily
crud. I'd guess it was the original oil. I found the pieces I was
looking for but now need to refill the housing with oil.
Would 90w work? How full should it be? None of my books have
any information.
