Hi Gary, buy a recirculating heater that uses standard car heater hose. There is a pipe plug to remove on the left side of the block above the injection pump and there is another pipe plug in the front of the water jacket on the right side. Drain about 1/2 the coolant out of the engine. Remove these two pipe plugs and replace with a pipe nipple. Mount the recirculating heater on the left side of the engine with a fabricated bracket. The bottom of the recirculating heater must be below the hole on the left side of the block. Using heater hose, connect the bottom connection of the recirculating heater to the nipple on the left side of the block and the top to the nipple on the water jacket. Theory is hot water rises and cold falls to bottom. Even in really cold weather 30 minutes to an hour is good to start. Hope this helps JB2

What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
