I have a friend who just purchased an W4. It starts perfectly, has 50+ oil pressure when warm full speed at idle about 35lbs. It has a slight oil leak in the rear engine seal not sure if its from just sitting around for so long. He wants to paint it and use it for just shows. I come from a restoration background of tearing everything down and making like or better than new( expensive and you never get ahead ) So I'm not the one to ask the question to. I thought I would throw it out to fellow tractor owners before I answered him.He wanted to know if he should tear down the engine and re gasket it , have the head reworked and possibly put new sleeves/pistons. He doesnt want to have a great paint job and double back later . I feel its fine I see no other oil leaks But I suggested a clutch only due to a vague history and the tractor looks all original. What to you fellows feel about this? Thanks for your responses
