I wish I knew what battery the mechanic put in Dad's 756 when we put the diesel in 'er. It's a single 12V, and spins that old 360 diesel over like nothing in the middle of winter. That battery would probably tear the engine right out of a 544, and you wouldn't have to worry about dealing with two mismatched batteries.

Basically, the 1000 CCA battery is wasted money because you're limited to what the smaller battery can do.
