Alan, The Stage I Super Ms Do Not have the batt under the seat. They look just like a regular ol garden variety M. Monroe shock seat (the litte short one). The hydrolic pump is in the belly of the tractor. The only 2 distinguishible points that are readly obivious to the regular Joe is ... 1 the 264 engine. 2 the disc brakes. The Battery didn't get moved to the underseat position till the Satge II series. Hope this helps. Later, John A.
