I wouldn't want to farm a 100 crop acres with a couple of 140's and retain a full time job. A JD3020 or something similar, would make things go a lot easier, although 40+ hp would probably be enough. However, I tend to lean in the opposite direction; ie, probably have ten times the required machinery, which means I could farm 1000 acres rather than current 100. Just makes a good situation better when you can pick and choose the flavor of the day. More importantly it allows you to get things done quickly, if the off-farm job gets you behind. Having shed space for everything has been the biggest problem, along with maintaining batteries. I'll wager that Nebraska's Allan will agree you can never have too many tractors, if they are red.
